This breed of chicken is practically unknown in the US. Egyptian Fayoumis is a breed that has been raised along the Nile River in Egypt for centuries and are very common there. No other breed of chicken can mature as fast as the Fayoumis. Young hens can start laying their eggs at about 4 months old when they only weigh about 4 lbs. This breed of chicken lays medium sized, creamy white eggs.
