Salmon Faverolles were originally bred as a utility fowl in France for eggs in the winter. Now it is very rare and raised mostly for exhibition and novelty. These birds are a decent size with mature females weighing up to 6.5 lbs that also have a beard, muff, feathered shanks, and even a fifth toe! Female Salmon Faverolles are a creamy- white and salmon brown, they lay a meduim sized cream egg, and are excellent mothers.
